SMG adds four new brands to portfolio
Marine electronics distributor SMG has added four new brands to its portfolio – ThrustMe, Shadow-Caster, Exposure OLAS and Utoka.
Nick Edgington, sales and business development manager for SMG tells Marine Industry News: “We have a duty of care to our trade customers to ensure that the brands we introduce to them are in keeping with the quality and innovation of our current offerings. Each of these new brands has numerous unique selling points and will offer our dealers excellent sales potential in the current market.”
Utoka’s coolers use vacuum technology that holds ice for up to five days
ThrustMe electric outboards are the lightest electric outboard on the market, according to SMG, with a built-in lithium battery and a wireless remote control that provides six forward and six reverse speed settings.
Shadow-Caster provides under- and above-water lighting solutions with the world’s only NMEA controller, allowing connectivity with Garmin, Raymarine and Furuno MFDs.
Exposure OLAS provides compact, ‘smart’, man overboard systems to assist crew and emergency services in rescue situations, and Utoka produces robust and stylish cool boxes in a range of sizes and colours — SMG also offers them with a range of branding options.
SMG has held a successful series of Meet the Manufacturer (MTM) events in the UK this spring. The third MTM and trade-only networking event was held at Trafalgar Wharf and expanded on previous formats to include 14 suppliers and four ambassador boats allowing dealers and suppliers to come together to explore the latest technologies available from the top marine brands both off and on the water.
Founded in 1972, SMG has grown to become one of the UK and Ireland’s largest value-added distributors of marine technology brands, selling products by brands including Scanstrut, Raymarine and Garmin.
