Lizard Yacht Service wins rights for superyacht eco-friendly filter
Lizard Yacht Service has been appointed sole European distributor for the SeaClean System, which is designed to remove harmful particulates from marine diesel generator exhaust.
SeaClean was first launched at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, and is said to have achieved significant results for luxury yacht owners in the USA and the Caribbean. The sole distribution rights for Europe have now been awarded for the first time by inventor and product owner, Richard Boggs, who is based in Florida.
From its bases in Falmouth UK and Palma, Mallorca, Lizard Yacht Service provides parts and engineering services to luxury yacht and superyacht clients.
“Luxury yacht owners want their vessels to be in pristine condition,” says Lizard Yacht Service MD, Emlyn Jones. “Hull staining from the generator exhaust can require cleaning with abrasives. As well as the inconvenience, over time this repetitive cleaning can damage the hull. Diesel engine soot pollution has become a major factor in increased maintenance costs for yachts and other motor vessels.
“It is also highly undesirable to have soot from the exhaust floating in the water around the vessel. Exhaust gases and soot particles impact a yacht’s daily environment, and affect the owner and guests’ enjoyment of their time onboard. The SeaClean System deals with these problems. The system captures up to 98% of the soot and other particulates in the exhaust flow that would otherwise be discharged into the atmosphere.
“This exhaust treatment system is a real game-changer. Major reductions in engine emissions as well as operating expense can be realised. SeaClean can help yacht owners reduce their carbon footprint and make their vessels more eco-friendly, as well as prolong the life span of the generator.
“We are delighted to have been appointed sole European distributor and we are looking forward to bringing this innovative technology to the fast growing superyacht market in Europe.”
