First Class Sailing to run celestial navigation workshops at Ocean Globe Race Village
First Class Sailing will be running a series of workshops and talks on celestial navigation at the Ocean Globe Race’s village between 29 August and 10 September.
The Ocean Globe Race is an extraordinary sailing event that requires participants to embrace traditional celestial navigation using sextants. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the original event, which will see 14 yachts take on 27,000 miles over eight months. Earlier this year, MIN announced that the race would be returning to Southampton for the first time in almost quarter of a century.
First Class Sailing says its presence at MDL’s Ocean Village marina which is hosting the event, will be an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts and sailing aficionados to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of celestial navigation and that the workshops are expected to be the highlight of its participation.
“We are excited to be a part of the Ocean Globe Race Village,” says Charlie Tulloch, principal at First Class Sailing. “This event perfectly aligns with our celestial navigation course, as well as offering exceptional sailing opportunities to people from all walks of life. We invite everyone to join us at the Race Village, learn about celestial navigation, and discover the joys of sailing with First Class Sailing.”
