WhisperPower expands range of compact generators
WhisperPower has recently added the Piccolo 6 to its range.
It’s a very small and lightweight model that is said to easily fit into 35-to-45-feet sail or motor yachts. Although the new addition is 10 centimetres lower and 14 centimetres shorter than other models, it offers just 0.4 kW less power. It’s fully water-cooled, with dimensions of 54 x 47 x 52 cm (hxwxd) and a weight of 145 kg. It’s fitted with a two-cylinder diesel engine that complies with Stage V/ EPA Tier 4 emission standards, and is being supplied by Barrus.
As a larger variant of the Piccolo 15 (12 kW), WhisperPower is also developing the Piccolo 18, based on a four-cylinder diesel engine in accordance with Stage V/Tier 4. The fully water-cooled unit (engine and permanent magnet back-end) supplies 15 kW at an rpm of 2400 (rpm is adjustable between 2000 and 2400) at a size of 70 x 56 x 99 cm (hxwxd) and weight of 187 kg. All Piccolo models can be parallel connected in a twin setup to double their capacity.
Last September (2022), Barrus introduced the WhisperPower brand to its growing portfolio. Established in 2007, WhisperPower develops, manufactures and supplies smart electrical systems for commercial and recreational marine applications and mobile and commercial vehicle markets.
