Water resistant Riva edition speakers from Bang & Olufsen launched
Riva and Bang & Olufsen are now marketing two products for onboard sound systems: the Beosound A5 and Beosound 2 Riva Edition speakers. A company statement from Riva says every element has been designed with ‘purpose, power and polish’.
Beosound A5, described as ‘a portable work of art’ comes with navy blue aluminium wrapped in a mahogany and maple veneer. It’s finished in Bang & Olufsen’s factory in Struer, Denmark, while the wooden speaker cover is handmade by Riva’s craftsmen in Sarnico. More importantly, it features 360-degree sound dispersion and excellent sound quality. Bang & Olufsen’s RoomSense feature is said to adapt playback based on any space for crystal-clear immersive sound every time. Better yet, it’s got up to 12 hours of battery life and wireless charging built in, and is IP65 water resistance.
Beosound 2 is a solid aluminium speaker that has been double anodised in navy blue, before precision-milling the lines of its grille. The floating control wheel features the addition of Riva’s signature blue aquamarine line. This speaker features Bang & Olufsen’s Acoustic Lens Technology in its conical body that creates a 360-degree sound experience. Listeners can swipe through songs with a single touch and the wheel interface allows for steering the sound in any direction.
Beosound A5 and Beosound 2 Riva Edition are available on the Riva Boutique and Bang & Olufsen websites (€2,400 and €5,000 respectively).
“Working on this project has been exhilarating, and I want to thank our teams in both Struer and Sarnico for making something truly memorable,” says Bang & Olufsen’s CEO Kristian Teär.
Alberto Galassi, Ferretti Group’s CEO, adds: “I can’t wait to discover and enjoy the wonders that will come out of this extraordinary collaboration.”
MIN reached out to the firms to enquire about the next steps in their collaboration; however, they remain tight-lipped for now.
Recently Riva, a brand of Italian boating giant Ferretti Group, signed a new dealership agreement with Jeff Brown Yachts in the United States. The dealership describes itself as one of the fastest-growing on the West Coast, offering customers tailored services for sales, repairs, refitting and maintenance. It also represents the yachting brands Axopar, Brabus, Sirena, Pardo and Y Yachts.
