WATCH: Superyacht blaze in Puglia
The 27m superyacht Naseem caught ablaze and sank in Puglia last week, five miles off the Santa Maria di Leuca coast.
Italian media publication, Daily Nautica, reports that the 27.1-metre motor yacht Naseem caught fire and was attended to by the local Coastguard.
Despite efforts to extinguish the blaze, the fire could not be brought under control and footage from central emergency department @vigilidelfuoco_officialpage shows the yacht engulfed in flames. The superyacht began to sink and could not be salvaged.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the Maritime Authority has opened an investigation into the fire.
Naseem, built by Dominator and delivered in 2009, was one of seven Dominator 86 models. She could accommodate eight guests in four cabins and could sleep four crew.
