Typhoon International launches technical clothing collection
Typhoon International has revealed its technical clothing collection for 2023. It’s offering six new garments for sailors and powerboaters.
Amy Grealish, marketing and communications manager at Typhoon International, says the high-performance clothing is a logical and natural progression for Typhoon (the company’s technical dingy range came out in 2021).
“Working with the latest fabrics and innovative production processes, and with performance and comfort at the heart of the design process, this new range provides sailors and powerboaters with multiple options for protection against the elements or during offshore voyages where conditions may be more challenging over extended periods of time.”
Earlier this month, Typhoon released its next generation drysuit, the PS440 2.0. That featured a large front chest kangaroo style pocket with two zipped side pockets which are integrated into the panelling to reduce any bulk, complementing the two low-profile bellow thigh pockets.
Typhoon’s new technical clothing collection includes:
The TX-3+ Offshore Jacket which is said to be ideal for ocean navigation and equally suitable for sailing, racing or powerboating. It’s waterproof and windproof and is made from a high-performance three-layer material with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating. The fully taped seam construction provides all weather protection while a double cuff reduces water influx. There’s a fully adjustable high collar and an ergonomic hood and facemask, to offer maximum protection from the elements. The fleece-lined collar and side pockets provide additional comfort, and the outer and inner chest pockets provide storage for essentials.
Meanwhile, the TX-3+ Offshore Hi-Fit is designed to be worn alone or with the TX-3+ Offshore Jacket. This waterproof, windproof and fully adjustable salopette is made from a hard-wearing and breathable three-layer nylon material with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating and fully taped seam construction. It features articulated knees for ease of movement and a full ‘bib’ back panel with front adjustable straps as well as Cordura reinforced panels on the seat and knee to increase resilience and durability.
The TX-3 Coast Jacket is crafted from a three-layer polyester material with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating and fully taped seam construction. It offers superior levels of comfort via its articulated design, differential hem and high collar (fleece lined). It can be worne with the TX-3 Coast Hi-Fit, a waterproof and windproof coastal salopette. The latter is made from the same material and is said to have a range of innovative features, including reinforcement panels, adjustable shoulder straps, elasticated waist and strategically placed pockets.
Typhoon is also offering a TX-T Softshell Jacket and TX-1 Deck Shorts.
