TMS named distributor of lightning prevention systems
Technical Marine Supplies (TMS) has now added lightning prevention systems to its range of products on offer. The marine distributor company in Plymouth has been chosen by Paraguay-based Sertec Marine to supply its equipment to the UK, European and Scandinavian markets.
Sertec Marine designs and manufactures lightning prevention systems, and its technology has been endorsed by the Tesla Institute. The systems negate the need for lightning protection by changing the atmosphere around the craft, thus removing the physical environment required for a lightning strike to occur. It is suitable for all vessels, regardless of size and design.
Nick Cook, senior sales manager for TMS, says: “Having Sertec Marine place their faith in TMS to handle the distribution across the variety of marine markets in not just the UK and Ireland, but the whole of Europe and Scandinavia, reinforces our belief that a technical approach to distribution, coupled with a close working relationship with our customers across the continent is key to offering our manufacturing partners the best route to market possible.
“Having this game changing technology recognised and approved by various insurance companies is a great endorsement for this life and vessel saving technology.”
This technology will be on display for the first time at Southampton International Boat Show (16-25 September), and stock will be held in TMS’ warehousing facility in Plymouth.
TMS supply a wide range of technical equipment to the marine trade in the UK and Europe. The company also has a dedicated technical department which offers product knowledge and support.
