Thailand Yacht Show 2022 postpones first leg
Organisers of the Thailand Yacht Show have confirmed the first leg of this year’s two-part show has been postponed to June.
Verventia says the first part of the sixth edition of the Thailand Yacht Show (TYS), at Ocean Marina in Pattaya, will now be held 9-12 June, delayed from the original dates of 7-10 April.
In a statement, the organiser says the decision was taken “in response to requests from many of the main stakeholders”, and will allow “several brands, impacted by heavy production backlogs and overbooked shipping services, to get their latest models to the show”.
Verventia also points out that the venue for the show’s VIP Lounge – the Ocean Marina Hotel, hotel, restaurant and Yacht Club – is still under re-construction, and will not be completed until May. “The new dates will allow the whole complex and its facilities to be open and available to visitors in all its reconfigured glory,” the statement concludes.
The second part of the show is still set to take place in Phuket in December, but dates have not been confirmed.
The Thailand Yacht Show 2022 will be among the first boat shows in southeast Asia for over two years. The pandemic has forced much of the region into a series of strict lockdowns since early 2020.

The 2021 edition of the Thailand Yacht Show was postponed due to the pandemic. A new competitor, the Thailand International Boat Show (TIBS), had been scheduled to run in Phuket in 2022. However, organisers announced in December 2021 that the inaugural TIBS event is postponed to 2023.
Last month, Marine Industry News reported Verventia saying that there has been widespread interest in the dual-format Thailand Yacht Show so far, including from buyers based in Bangkok. “The two-show format will make the Thailand Yacht Show bigger, more representative of the whole of the industry, and far more easily accessible to visitors from all over Thailand, as well as to exhibitors from all parts of the industry,” the company says.
