Black and red Skipper BSK boat powers through water on Supermarine open day

Supermarine has been appointed the official distributor for Italy, Spain, and Switzerland for Skipper, a brand from the BSK Marine shipyard in Greece. BSK specialises in producing high-end sports RIBs.

The Skipper-BSK range is being introduced to the market with three models: the 34NC, 38NC, and 42NC. All are claimed to deliver speeds of over 60 knots, and offer exceptional performance in rough seas. Two models are already available for trials in Italy: the Skipper BSK 34 NC powered by two Mercury 300R engines and the Skipper BSK 42 NC powered by two Volvo Penta diesel inboard-outboard engines.

The company recently hosted a three-day sea trials event at the Marina of Varazze.

“We identified certain models made by Skipper that are unique on the nautical landscape. These are high-performance watercraft, designed detail by detail to achieve exceptional performance on the water as the only RIBs in the world with a four-step hull,” says Riccardo Cavarzan, CEO.

“This agreement represents a key milestone in Supermarine’s ambitious industrial plan. Our mission is to offer unique products in the market.

“We started with Saxdor, which is now a unique brand in terms of innovative design and price-quality ratio. Today we add the new Skipper BSK brand, which is unique in terms of quality and performance in the world of maxi RIBs and maxi tenders. We are excited to offer our customers an even more diversified portfolio of innovative, high-quality boats. Saxdor and Skipper BSK represent excellence in their respective market segments, and we are honoured to be their point of reference.”

In 2024, the first year Supermarine brought the Finnish Saxdor brand to the market, more than 30 boats were sold and delivered.

Supermarine says that representing Saxdor in Italy (and the Principality of Monaco) has strengthened its presence in the Italian market. In the first year of distribution, five dealers were added to the network. Its development strategy is now to create a select network of dealers to cover the three markets.

“Our strategy is to curate a selective network of dealers for Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, and events like these [sea trials] are valuable opportunities for visibility and to establish contact with operators, dealers, and enthusiasts from various regions.”

Supermarine says that ‘the uniqueness and eccentricity of the Saxdor brand in the market is to thank for much of the success’, and as such, it’s chosen to represent Skipper with similar expectations.
