Sri Lanka marine organisation joins ICOMIA
The Chamber of Marine Industries of Sri Lanka is now a full member of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA).
ICOMIA is the international trade association, founded in 1966, representing the global marine industry. In June, ICOMIA appointed its first CEO, following the creation of the new leadership role.
The Chamber of Marine Industries of Sri Lanka was established to act on behalf of the country’s entire industry. It fosters a favourable marine business climate in Sri Lanka by creating and widening business opportunities in new markets while engaging with the wider international marine community.
To prioritise their integration in the global marine economy, the chamber says it works to improve institutional and regulatory environments, which will lead to better business and government dialogue.
“We are dedicated to developing the marine industry in Sri Lanka and as such we trust that our membership with ICOMIA will provide us with the right tools, information, contacts and guidance to do so,” says Indhra Kaushal Rajapaksa, chair of the Chamber of Marine Industries of Sri Lanka in a statement. “We look forward to working with the ICOMIA team, getting involved and fostering greater relationships on a worldwide scale for us and our members.”
