Smartgyro signs US distribution agreement
Mack Boring & Parts Co. has signed a distribution agreement with Gyro stabiliser specialist Smartgyro to bring its stabilisation product to market in the United States.
“We are very excited to introduce Smartgyro stabilisation technology to our customers,” says Scott DuBrow, director of sales and marketing, Mack Boring & Parts Co. “We are continually looking for new and innovative products to complement our current power and propulsion product offerings and are excited to bring Smartgyro to the US market. Many of our customers are very familiar with stabilisation products and we are confident that the Smartgyro product will provide great value for customers looking to make their experience on the water more comfortable.”
The distribution territory of Mack Boring & Parts Co. spans Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Bermuda.
Smartgyro’s SG series of gyro stabilisers, the SG20, SG40, SG60, SG80, SG120 and SG150, are designed for various vessels from 30 feet to over 80 feet. The firm has recently set its sights on expansion across the US, by strengthening the supply chain and dealer network.
Innovations include a revolutionary modular mechanical design that enables the compact stabilisers to be assembled directly inside the boat and serviced while onboard, minimising time spent on maintenance. The SG range is said to feature cutting-edge developments within the control electronics, braking system, liquid-cooling system and vacuum enclosure to maximise roll reduction, performance and efficiency.
Smartgyro has been working with sister companies, Vetus and Maxwell, to develop a new Graphical User Interface (GUI) which it unveiled last month at METSTRADE (15-17 November 2022).
