Smartgyro offers preview of GUI at METSTRADE
Smartgyro has been working with sister companies, Vetus and Maxwell, to develop a new Graphical User Interface (GUI) which it is unveiling this week at METSTRADE (15-17 November 2022).
The company says the interface promises ever-greater integration with the future capability of controlling Vetus, Smartgyro, and Maxwell systems from a single place. It describes it as a true innovation connecting all systems together into one central interfacing platform compatible with MFDs (including Garmin, Raymarine and Simrad).
“Users of the SG series units already benefit from superior roll reduction and the unique onboard maintenance and service of our models,” says Carlo Gazerro, Smartgyro sales manager. “Now, it will be possible to view, control and monitor the boat’s stabilisation status and activities more accurately than ever before.”
It’ll be rolled out to consumers in 2023, but in the meantime, Sander Gesink, marketing director at Smartgyro says: “METS 2022 offers us the perfect opportunity to share with the marine industry the great strides that our teams have been making with this cross-brand GUI.
“At METS we have installed a totem where we are integrating the Smartgyro display, and the Garmin OneHelm display. This is part of a larger project to bring the group companies’ products together, in a unified interface with a common graphic style. The internal software engineering teams, together with an external agency, developed the concept for the new display and each team adapted the colours and features needed for their product line.
“Smartgyro’s GUI will be first to market, already in preview specification here, and it coincides nicely with Smartgyro’s launch, also here at METS, of the SG120 and 150 gyro stabiliser models which take the vessel size capability up to and over 95ft.”
Earlier this year, Smartgyro announced it was partnering with Garmin to integrate its stabilisation software with Garmin’s OneHelm system.
