Sea Angling Classic unveils prize boat at BoatLife
International ‘catch, photograph and release’ fishing competition, the Sea Angling Classic unveiled the event’s first prize at BoatLife in Birmingham when the show opened yesterday (16 February 2023).
The 745 Game King from Extreme Boats, powered by a 300hp V6 Yamaha outboard engine, complete with Yamaha Joystick Helm Master EX control system, and the Ultimate Fishing System from Lowrance, will be presented to the winner of the recreational boat angling category when the competition takes place 14-18 June 2023.
This generous prize combination, supplied by Yamaha Marine UK and its boat partner Extreme Boats, was unveiled by Ross Honey, managing director of Angling Spirit and founder of the Sea Angling Classic.
“We’re delighted to have Yamaha Marine UK, Extreme Boats and Lowrance onboard as partners of the Sea Angling Classic,” he says.
“We thank each company for this incredible prize which will enable the winning angler to cruise to designated fishing areas confidently and efficiently and remain in prime position without having to lay an anchor and disturb the fragile ecosystems and marine life found on the seabed.”
The Sea Angling Classic aims to promote UK angling in a responsible and sustainable manner. The programme of events leading up to the four-day competition includes a shore clean-up programme, which is a prerequisite for entry for participants, an around the UK educational road show, and a family friendly crabbing competition.
The prize boat will be on display for the duration of the SBS BoatLife 2023 show, 16-19 February at the NEC in Birmingham.
