Sail Arch enters European market
US manufacturer Atlantic Towers has signed Sailtec as the European distributor of its Sail Arch mounting platform, which helps to carry equipment on sailing yachts.
Founded in Germany in 1984, Sailtec is a technical supplier for international brands across Europe.
Sailtec owner Björn Rump says Atlantic Towers’ arches will have a large market in Europe fuelled by the increasing importance of solar panels on yachts.
“We are pleased that we were able to hold successful meetings with Steve Tull from Atlantic Towers in the USA,” says Rump. “The contact was made through the export representative Brunger Export. At boot Düsseldorf we fixed the deal with a handshake.”
Sailtec takes over the sole distribution throughout Europe and will ship Sail Arch platforms from its Schenefeld/Hamburg warehouse.
The Sail Arch is constructed in aluminium and made from standard components that can be individually configurated. This means the Sail Arch can be fitted to virtually any sailing yacht, no matter the shape of the stern.
The arch can mount solar panels, antennas, navigation instruments, and even bulky items on board like a kayak or dinghy can be stored and lifted.
“The Sail Arch is like the Swiss army knife for cruising yachts and can be mounted with simple tools,” says Steve Tull, president of Atlantic Towers in the US.
Sail Arches are suitable for yachts over 30 feet and are available from Sailtec at an RRP of €3,480.
