Palma International Boat Show 2023: Season begins with record numbers
The 2023 Mediterranean sailing season kicks off tomorrow, with the Palma International Boat Show taking place from 27-30 April at Palma’s Moll Vell marina in Mallorca.
The show has seen the highest-ever number of pre-registrations for participating yachts and an increase in international shipyards exhibiting directly at the fair. At least 80 per cent of last year’s exhibitors are also returning this year, according to the organisers.
The 2022 edition of the show featured a lineup of 276 participating companies, 21 per cent more than the previous year, along with 264 boats on display at sea. Over 32,000 people visited PIBS 2022, twice as many as in 2021.
This year’s Palma International Boat Show, organised by the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association, showcases over 600 boats, including over 100 superyachts. It marks the continuation of a successful rebranding effort, after the Palma Boat Show and Palma Superyacht Show joined forces to become one large event.
On top of on-water boat displays, the four-day show also offers a growing area for the boat repair and maintenance industry, located in the Palma Superyacht Village area, which will showcase superyachts over 24 metres in length from the international brokerage and charter market.
Hosted by Yachting Ventures, the new Innovation Corner at the Superyacht Village is a space for start-ups to show new and emerging technologies, and aims to promote a dialogue between startups and wider industry professionals.

In recent years Palma International Boat Show has become one of the premier events of the Med’s nautical season. The nautical sector is regarded as a strategic sector by the government for the economy of the Balearic Islands, since it generates more than 4,500 direct jobs, is made up of some 650 companies and generates around 840 million euros a year.
