Turkish yacht builder Numarine has issued a public statement following an accident in Istanbul on Friday, 24 January 2025, involving a service vehicle carrying its employees, which fell from height. The incident resulted in the deaths of two employees and left several others injured.

According to local media reports, a rented service minibus, operated by a company called Paşaoğulları, broke down at around 8.00am. The driver reportedly attempted to pull over, mistaking the location for a ramp, but the vehicle instead fell approximately 20 metres into a streambed. A total of 13 people were reportedly injured, with two fatalities confirmed.

In its official statement about the accident (translated from Turkish), and shared on social media, Numarine said: “On 24 January 2025, in the morning hours, we are deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred in one of the shuttle buses carrying our company employees. We are experiencing the pain and sorrow of losing two of our employees in this tragic incident.

“We wish God’s mercy to our valuable colleagues who lost their lives, condolences and patience to their families, relatives and all our colleagues.”

Numarine adds that it is closely following and supporting the recovery of the injured employees.
