MDL Fitness launches eco-friendly floating fitness league
Boat and superyacht owners and guests can now join the Boaters Super League, said to be the world’s first eco-friendly floating fitness league.
In partnership with SA Green Solutions, MDL Fitness is bringing state-of-the-art SportsArt green fitness equipment to the boating community. Rather than use fitness equipment in a designated gym, owners can install the Eco-Powr and Elite Cardio bikes, treadmills and cross-trainers onboard a motorboat or sailing yacht.
Converting up to 74 per cent of human kinetic energy produced while exercising into clean, renewable energy, the watts generated can be sent back through the yacht’s power grid to offset energy consumption or to recharge batteries.
“Members can track their energy production, machine usage stats, and compare their progress against other yachters through local and global watts produced leader board,” says MDL’s sales and marketing director Tim Mayer. “Members can talk to each other via the forum and get great content via the MDL Fitness website. This is the perfect fitness solution to inspire today’s environmentally conscious boaters”.
Supported by a global network of engineers and designed to work with any onboard power system, this new ‘green’ gym option can be installed on a new build or retrofitted on an already established privately owned or charter yacht. SportArt green fitness equipment can also be installed at home, if space onboard is tight.
And with small, medium and large equipment packages, featuring single to multiple items, SA Green Solutions says a fitness suite can be tailored to the space available and the individual requirements of the owner or yacht management company.
