Inland and Coastal Marina Systems’ Heavy Duty Pontoons
Introducing
Inland and Coastal Marina Systems (ICMS) designs, manufactures and installs pontoons, providing water access solutions for the marine industry. Its years of experience designing and producing berthing across a wide range of environments has led to the development of its heavy-duty pontoons to accommodate larger vessels in marinas, yacht harbours and ports.
Overview
ICMS’ heavy-duty pontoons are used extensively throughout the commercial marine industry in semi-sheltered sites, primarily by harbour boards, pilot and fishing vessels, ferry operators and general commercial traffic.
Offering unparalleled versatility, ICMS’s heavy-duty pontoons can be adapted to suit every berthing requirement, accommodating any decking system, fender and freeboard combination.
With a higher live load capacity than other steel framed systems, the heavy-duty pontoons have the capacity to absorb the higher berthing energies associated with the berthing of larger, heavier displacement vessels.
Due to the unique flotation system manufactured in house, exact client freeboard requirements can be achieved to match different vessels, and the pontoons can be connected side by side to form platforms to any width requirement.
Performance Data
Designed to BS6349 and the Yacht Harbour Association Code of Practice, ICMS’ pontoons have a 25-year design life, making them a more sustainable berthing option. The heavy-duty pontoons have live load capacities of 2kN/m2 to 5kN/m2 and the grade 275 steel main frame is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461.
Used For
Initially designed with commercial ports and harbours in mind, ICMS’ heavy-duty pontoons have proven to be the perfect floating pontoon solution for a variety of applications including CTV berthing for offshore windfarm O&M bases, high-capacity public walkways and boardwalks, and work platforms.
