German yacht show returns
The Hamburg Ancora Yachtfestival is confirmed for 20-22 May 2022, at Ancora Marina in the harbour town of Neustadt in Holstein, on the Baltic Sea.
Germany’s largest in-water boat show was last held in 2019, with the 2020 and 2021 events cancelled due to the pandemic. According to the show organiser, over 90 yachts and boats were registered during the first 14 days after the opening of the registration portal for the 2022 edition.
Traditional Swedish shipyard Hallberg Rassy will premiere the Hallberg Rassy 400 and the Hallberg Rassy 50 at the show, and the new Saare 41AC from Estonia will make its world debut. Beneteau’s sporty First 36 is coming to Germany for the first time, and the new Arcona 385 performance cruiser also makes its national debut.
Motor yachts on display include the Absolute 48 Coupe, awarded Powerboat of the Year 2022, and the Bavaria SR 36 making its world premiere.
“In the last two years, the water sports market has been booming on the one hand, but on the other hand there has been less direct contact with interested customers outside our own customer list because of the boat shows cancelled due to the pandemic,” says Heiko Zimmermann, managing director of show organiser Yachtfestival365. “The exhibitors finally want to show their exhibits live again and the interested visitors want to experience, see, feel and compare again. All this in a beautiful and safe ambience. That’s where the Hamburg Ancora Yachtfestival, as Germany’s largest in-water boat show – outdoors and directly on the Baltic Sea – is the ideal event.”
Aside from the previous two years, the Hamburg Ancora Yachtfestival (known as Hanseboot Ancora Boatshow until 2018) has been held annually since 2010, at the beginning of the water sports season. The last edition in 2019 featured 180 yachts and boats, 18,000 visitors, 90 pagodas, and a 1,200sqm exhibition hall.
