Four Winns creates electric bowrider
Four Winns is expanding its offering of bowriders and deck boats with a new 100 per cent electric, 22 foot bowrider – the H2e. The brand, which falls under Groupe Beneteau, has partnered with Vision Marine Technologies to develop what it says is the first, all-electric, series production bowrider on the market.
“Boaters are more aware than ever of their environmental footprints and are looking for sustainable solutions to reducing carbon emissions while still being able to enjoy the passions they love so much, and we are excited to share our vision and passion with the world,” says Alexandre Mongeon, CEO of Vision Marine Technologies.
The boat utilises an 180E electric outboard engine with a top speed of approximately 35 knots (40mph). The system consists of two high voltage, high density, 700v battery packs, complete with a fully integrated onboard charger that can be plugged into any dock shore power system. It also features a dual touchscreen allowing the boater direct connectivity to entertainment controls, phone connection, and an advanced navigation system. Plus it has an automatic logbook providing trip history, battery status, security, and weather forecasts.
In August 2022, Vision Marine Technologies broke the 100mph speed barrier on an electric watercraft, achieving 109mph with its V32 race boat at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout performance boat competition in the US.
In partnership with Hellkat Powerboats, the company produced the V32 – a 32ft catamaran hull specifically designed to accommodate the necessary battery banks to power a pair of Vision Marine’s flagship E-Motion electric outboards.
