First hull of new Sanlorenzo SP110 sold in Asia
Sanlorenzo Asia has sold Asia’s first hull of the new Sanlorenzo SP110 model. The 33.5-metre superyacht debuted at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival and is set for delivery in spring 2024.
The SP110 is the first model from the Italian yacht builder’s new open Smart Performance (SP) series and is said to offer impressive performance, topping 40 knots of speed at the lowest fuel consumption. The vessel is powered by triple Volvo IPS 2000HP engines, with onboard solar panels supplying power to run the hotel load.
Sanlorenzo says the SP110 is the result of an ambitious design goal: to guarantee high performance with maximum energy efficiency thanks to a fractional propulsion system consisting of three significantly smaller engines, with the best weight/power ratio. Depending on the conditions and the owner’s needs, the boat is able to move around using just one engine, a pair, or all three, allowing great flexibility, low consumption, and a different autonomy depending on the desired speed.
“We are delighted to have received the first order for this amazing new yacht by Sanlorenzo, which pushes the boundaries of design, performance and sustainability to the next level,” says Nick Stratton, sales manager for Sanlorenzo Asia — which is represented by broker Simpson Marine.
“It is an incredibly powerful yacht that is at the same time elegant, light, nearly silent at high speeds, and provides incredibly smooth handling. The sale of SP110 is tangible proof that Asian customers are ready for the next level in fast performance yachting.”
At 33.5 metres long and 8 metres wide, this two-level yacht will feature a three-cabin plus office layout, and the owners will collaborate with the yard to develop a bespoke interior design.
Earlier this month, Sanlorenzo confirmed the sale of a new 73m flagship superyacht, which will mark the first in the 73Steel series.
The boat builder has also recently teamed up with Rolls-Royce to develop and build a large motor yacht with a methanol engine propulsion system able to run carbon neutrally on ‘green’ methanol.
