Figurehead on Jeff Bezos’ superyacht appears to be modelled on his partner
Amazon boss Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez have recently been spotted relaxing on the deck of their new superyacht Koru, which was delivered in April.
And it appears that Bezos has commissioned a personal touch to the $500m vessel, with the new addition of a figurehead that bears a striking resemblance to his partner Lauren Sanchez.

The polished wooden sculpture, which sits on the prow of the vessel, depicts a woman carved in the style of a winged Roman goddess, with long hair and several features that match those of former TV presenter and licensed pilot Sanchez.
Some social media users have speculated the figurehead could have been an engagement present, as Sanchez was recently photographed wearing a large diamond ring.
Not everyone is impressed, however. Vanity Fair writer Erin Vanderhoof Tweeted “This is one of the most horrifying things I have EVER seen.”

Traditionally figureheads embodied the spirit of an ocean-going ship, offering the crew protection from harsh seas and safeguarding their homeward journeys.
The pair’s inaugural trip aboard the 127-metre Oceanco sailing superyacht comes five years after it was commissioned. Koru is now the largest privately owned sailing yacht in the world, unseating 106.7-metre Black Pearl. (The 142.81-metre Sailing Yacht A is considered a sail-assisted motor yacht.)
The vessel comes with its own 75-metre support superyacht, Abeona, complete with a helipad and an array of water toys.
Oceanco had remained tight-lipped about Koru while it was under construction, but never denied that Bezos was the vessel’s owner, sending superyacht spotters into a frenzy when the vessel emerged from the sheds in 2022 under the cover of darkness.
