EGIS launches new XD Series of battery switches
EGIS Mobile Electric has launched a new XD Series of battery switches, which the US-based firm says is its most versatile range of switches to date.
The XD Series comprises the 500a Battery Switch; Programmable ACR; Progammable ACR with Override; Remote Battery Switch; and Flex
Electric product manufacturer EGIS says Flex is the most versatile switch of the new XD range. Flex is said to offer the ability to offer flexible functionality via dip switches, working as a relay/battery disconnect, automatic charging relay, or low voltage disconnect.
The firm claims the design of the Flex switch results in a significant reduction in mounting space and product weight of between 35 per cent and 75 per cent.
By sharing charging on either of two batteries and isolating batteries when no charge sources are present, customers using Flex can eliminate the frustrations caused by dead-start batteries.
EGIS says Flex supports multiple engines or independent charge systems by incorporating two independent start or engine isolation inputs to allow isolation of charge sources when both are active to maximize charging performance.
The firm adds that the intuitive manual control option simplifies operation, and alerts users whether the device is being left in a locked off or locked on state (something not available on competitive solutions).
The switch, which comes with a four-year warranty, is also highly water-resistant, being sealed to IP67/IP6K9K standards.
The full range of EGIS products is available in the UK from Technical Marine Supplies.
