Dorset marine firm signs distribution deal with Lasdrop Shaft Seals
Dorset-based maritime equipment specialist Marine Components International (MCI) has signed a European distributor deal with Lasdrop Shaft Seals, a manufacturer of marine dripless shaft seals.
The move strengthens MCI’s partnership with the US-based business. MCI already holds UK distribution rights for Lasdrop’s products, and the firm says the new deal will also allow MCI to further develop its already extensive presence in Europe.
MCI will be highlighting the product range at METSTRADE in Amsterdam from November 15-17.
“We are very excited to announce this new deal with Lasdrop Shaft Seals and the opportunities that it presents,” says MCI managing director Andy Scott. “We already have a great working relationship with Lasdrop through our UK distribution deal. We will be holding a significant stock of the company’s wide range of products, and that will allow us to service the European market with very quick delivery.”
Lasdrop dripless shaft seals can be found on vessels ranging from small sailboats to tugboats and transportation vessels, and luxury yachts. The firm says they are also used by the US Coastguard.
“We are all really excited about expanding our presence in the UK and European markets with MCI,” says Lasdrop owner Kyle Mosher. “Our unique ability to efficiently manufacture both mechanical face seals and lip seals under one roof will give a lot of flexibility to MCI when speaking with customers about new builds and retrofits. We couldn’t be happier with the relationship and are excited about what the future holds.”
Mosher says the entire Lasdrop family of products has been updated and improved, and there are “exciting future innovations” in the works.
