Croatia – New Boatshed, New Boat Show, New Prototype!
Exhibiting at the exciting new Adriatic Boat Show from 15th -19th October on Stand 2/17 will be an equally exciting new Boatshed office – Boatshed Dalmatia. Finally, Croatia now has its very own special brand of yacht brokers. Based in Zadar and covering the beautiful Dalmatian coast, Boatshed Dalmatia is one of Boatshed’s newest stars and developing fast.
Twin-helming Boatshed Dalmatia are John Harkness and Lynn Kennedy. Both have the sea in their blood, and together with their brand new baby girl, they are now following their dream of living by the sea on Croatia’s spectacular coastline. John a qualified Ocean Yacht Master and an ex-Lloyds broker, says, “I would much rather climb around boats photographing them and finding new owners than insure them! I chose a Boatshed brokerage as I was really impressed by the Boatshed ethos – it’s all about integrity, communication and building relationships - basically making buying or selling a boat a simple, honest and transparent process.
Lynn, who previously advised large charities on development and legal issues, adds, “I really enjoy the simplicity of running a Boatshed office. It’s a breath of fresh (sea) air after the voluntary sector! We also love living in Croatia and have been thrilled at the diversity and quality of boats here, including some very interesting locally designed and produced boats. And of course sailing around the islands is just amazing!”
So - new Boatshed, new Boat Show. But … there’s more. Alongside the arrival of Boatshed Dalmatia and the Adriatic Boat Show comes Boatshed’s first Croatian power boat prototype listing! Of the Mondial 54 John says, “We are really excited to be listing this particular Croatian prototype. A team of experts worked on the design and build for two years, and the final result is a 54 ft head turner with a deep V-hull and soft, undulating lines. She is also built to comply with Lloyd’s Register rules, which would be a real benefit to Croatia’s police and Coast Guard if only they could afford to buy her! She is the only one of her kind in the world and we plan to find an equally unique buyer for her.”
Boatshed was set up in 1998 and now has 71 offices around the world with over 2750 boats and over 250,000 Boatshed registered users. Each boatshed office go onboard every boat they list and take up to 70 photos of the interior and exterior plus record full details. All this information saves time as each customer can see exactly what the boat is like online before travelling to view her.
