Swedish electric boat builder, Candela, has expanded its international sales network to the UK, appointing SE Yachts as its exclusive dealer.

The electric hydrofoiling manufacturer’s Candela C-8 will be making its UK debut with SE Yachts at the Southampton International Boat Show, 15-24 September 2023.

The all-electric C-8 has an extended range (60 nautical miles at 23 knots) which Candela says is due to hydrofoil technology and its collaboration with EV-maker Polestar. Equipped with the efficient Candela C-POD, the maximum speed is 28 knots, while the duo-prop drive line is submerged completely underwater to enable direct cooling and a ‘silent’ ride.

SE Yachts is based at MDL’s Hamble Point Marina near Southampton. Test drives of the Candela C-8 will be available from there and other MDL marinas later this year.
