British Marine launches new survey
British Marine is calling for people take part in the latest UK Marine Industry Technology and Innovation Road Map survey.
The survey, which is open for members and non-members, is the next step in British Marine’s road-mapping project aimed at providing industry and other stakeholders with a single validated source of information on the key opportunities, challenges and innovation priorities within the <24m UK recreational and commercial craft sectors.
By completing the online survey, participants will have the opportunity to contribute to the road-mapping project and help British Marine develop the industry’s vision for the future of these sectors.
Divided into four sections, the survey covers the key themes of the road map: customer expectations, craft design, craft manufacturing, and end-of-life disposal.
Questions focus on how the industry should evolve, what the technological and other trends you expect to shape the development of the industry are, and what the opportunities and challenges associated with these changes are.
“Earlier this year (2022), British Marine ran a short workshop at its inaugural National Conference to sketch out an update to the UK maritime industry road map issued about 10 years ago, to provide a more in-depth focus on the small recreational and commercial craft sectors,” explains Lesley Robinson, CEO, British Marine.
“This new survey now will expand on the workshop results and get greater engagement from other areas of the industry who may not have been at the conference to help us build the latest edition of the roadmap.
“The new roadmap will be instrumental in shaping conversations with government around where support and funding should be focused, as well as giving businesses a focus on future business direction.”
Complete the online form to take part in the survey. The closing date is midnight on 22 November 2022.
Those who take part in the survey will automatically be entered into a free prize draw to win a £50 Amazon voucher.
