Azimut appoints new general manager
Daniele Romiti has joined Azimut as general manager of the Azimut brand, reporting directly to the group’s CEO Marco Valle.
Romiti has spent much of his career as an aeronautical engineer. He rose to become COO and CEO of helicopter-design firm AgustaWestland, where he oversaw the company’s integration with Leonardo.
Before joining Azimut, Romiti was general manager at Alenia Aermacchi, in the civil and military aviation industry, and a managing director at Adler Peltzer Group, a leading producer of components and carbon fibre materials for the luxury automotive, boatbuilding and aerospace markets.
“I’m thrilled to join the Azimut team,” says Romiti, “and determined to make my own contribution to the growth path embarked on by the company and given an additional boost by a series of major investments.”
Founded in 1969, Azimut is a luxury yacht manufacturer based in Viareggio, Italy, and is part of the Azimut Benetti Group. Earlier this year, the group reported a backlog of over €2 billion for the first time in its history, fuelled in part by a diversified product portfolio.
In a media statement issued to announce Romiti’s appointment, Azimut says he will play a vital part in the firm’s development and growth plan.
