ASMEX 2022 conference details announced
The Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) has confirmed its conference, ASMEX 2022, will be held from 16 May to 18 May at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Now in its 11th year, the flagship Australian marine industry conference will offer new networking opportunities for attendees as well as provide quality and current industry commentary.
Under the banner of ‘reconnecting with the world’, the conference will focus on the direction of the export, superyacht and commercial sectors of Australia’s marine industry as they adapt to ‘living with covid’ while continuing to face the challenges of ongoing growth.
David Good, CEO of AIMEX adds: “With borders open to all international arrivals, it’s important for marine businesses to reconnect with their clients and to re-establish their relationships. ASMEX 2022 will also provide that much needed direct contact and networking with industry members.“
ASMEX 2022 will include sessions on the predictions and possible outcomes for Australia’s economy; a new service level for superyacht marinas; expanding the service proposition for commercial vessels; superyacht destination marketing strategies; a focus on Australian exporters and their ongoing business challenges during continued growth; and the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and superyacht visitation expectations.

The City of Gold Coast and the Queensland Government have both reaffirmed their support as partners for this annual event.
AIMEX will also be hosting the annual Australian Marine Industry Awards as part of the ASMEX 2022 programme. The awards gala dinner event will acknowledge the outstanding achievers in the Australian superyacht, marine export and commercial industries. The event will be held on Wednesday, 18 May at the Southport Yacht Club on the Gold Coast, honouring the winners across the eight competitive award categories.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate says: “Our marine industry is a shining beacon within our local economy. The industry is enjoying some stellar times thanks to the incredible enthusiasm of private investment in new products, facilities, logistics and support services.
“Governments at any level can only do so much so to see the level of investment underway right now shows the confidence that exists in the marketplace. The city is delighted to continue support for ASMEX and I wish conference organisers success.”
Guest speakers will be revealed closer to the time.
