Apreamare expands range
Italian boatbuilder Apreamare has presented its new Gozzo 45 model at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival this week.
Described as a “classy cruiser with a timelessly Mediterranean style”, this latest model is the new flagship of the Gozzo line.
A gozzo is a traditional Italian small fishing boat, and Apreamare says it has been reinterpreting its ancient charm for over 160 years, continually updating and adapting it for contemporary lifestyles.
“The Gozzo 45 is a vision of the future through tradition,” says Marco Casali, yacht designer of Too Design. “See the future through the experiences of those who have historically gone to sea in a serious way, searching for safety and comfort.”
The naval architecture and hull design benefit from the extensive experience of Umberto Tagliavini of Marine Design, who has already worked on most of the shipyard’s successful projects. The Gozzo 45, faithful to the brand’s long tradition of “seaworthiness – control, comfort, and safety in all sea conditions”, is said to combine high performance and excellent navigational ability with a very low roll, both underway and at anchor.
“The boat is always well supported in the water thanks to a variable geometry bottom with a deep V,” explains Tagliavini. “This type of hull and the tapered lines of the bow allow her to reach excellent speeds, even in rough seas, and to keep the deck dry, even for the helmsman.”
The hull was designed to offer both propulsion systems suitable for this type of boat – traditional shaft line or Volvo Penta IPS pods – and is expected to reach at least 25 knots whilst cruising and have a maximum running speed of at least 30 knots.
The deck of the Gozzo 45 is on one level, and has vast sunbathing areas and wide side passages. It has a large swim platform at the stern providing space for a tender or jet ski, and guests can get in and out of the water using the integrated sliding ladder.
The cockpit has a large sunbed and a C-shaped sofa surrounding the dining table, which seats eight. The wet bar area can be customised with options for a fridge, ice maker, hob, or a BBQ.
The helm station is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and has folding seating for four people. The entire piloting area is covered by a T-top that can be integrated to reach the extreme stern, providing shade over the sunbeds and seats.
Below deck, the standard layout includes two cabins with a dinette and two bathrooms, or, alternatively, there is a version available with three cabins and two bathrooms.
Earlier this year, MIN reported that the family-owned Italian shipyard had selected Milan-based communications agency Sculati & Partners to handle its social media management, digital PR, and media relations.
