STP Shipyard Palma expands superyacht facilities in Mallorca
STP Shipyard Palma, a facility specialising in the refit and repair of yachts, has initiated an expansion of its facilities in Mallorca.
With an investment of approximately €8m, this project aims to address the growing demand for superyacht refit and repair services. The total area of the yard will expand from 130,000m² to 162,000m², with 102,000m² designated for hardstanding and 60,000m² for water access.
The expansion includes the construction of five new berths designed to accommodate yachts up to 110 metres in length.
STP CEO Joan Rosselló states, “Over the years we’ve received numerous requests for berths for yachts of this size, and with this expansion we’ll finally be able to meet this demand.”
The first phase of development is underway, focusing on creating a new docking area and installing infrastructure to ensure full-service options for superyachts. In addition to expanded berthing, operational efficiency is a key focus, with planned reorganisation of work areas to streamline processes and reduce response times. The yard will also introduce a covered area for mast repairs and upgrade general infrastructure to support service quality.
The expansion project integrates measures such as solar panel installations and energy storage systems, designed to lower the facility’s carbon emissions.
The new berths are scheduled to be operational by the end of 2024, with the remaining work anticipated for completion in spring 2025.
